A Good Look at the Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard – Read Through Brief Overview To Help Answer Your Own Concerns
It’s considered a “mini” keyboard, and that’s exactly what the Rii is. When I mention mini keyboard, I am really referring to to how big the device is, as it’s not the same size as a normal keyboard. Most typical keyboard are around 18in x 2in x 8in, however this device is a mere 5.9 inches by 2.3 inches by 0.5 inches and weighs in at a mere 3.2 ounces. It’s not merely tiny but it’s also light, making it good for carrying around or for keeping it in a bag when you need it on the move. Because it’s compact, the device is handheld, but it allows for pleasantly hassle-free typing.
You will be able to use the Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard with gaming systems like PS3 or wiki, and with desktop computers and laptop computers. Because the keyboard makes use of a Bluetooth wireless USB receiver for wireless connectivity, you don’t need to mess around with any wires, and lots of devices are wireless now, making it easy to hook up this keyboard to your electronics. The keyboard comes with the usual QWERTY layout, as well as the convenience of a touchpad like those we know from laptops. In case the environment is dimly lit, the unit features 26 LED lights. The power supply has two rechargeable lithium ion batteries, which come with the mini keyboard.
The majority of reviewers on Amazon (of which there are a lot) have granted 4 and 5 star ratings to this mini keyboard. There are also quite a few votes for 1, 2 and 3 stars, which indicates that it may not be as good as it first appears. A maximum range of 30 ft for working reasonably well with his Ubuntu system was reported by one user. However, 30 ft is rather adequate. Both playlist and volume button controls are present on this device, which is terrific if the planned use is multimedia in character. This device also conveniently comes with other buttons, which although not often used, are nice when you do need them.
No device is perfect, and so there are some failings that must be cited. This mini keyboard’s touchpad appears similar to that of a laptop computer, but it’s not as exact, which makes it frustrating at times. One other nuisance – which can be circumvented by using the mouse buttons for left and right instead – is that the touchpad is a little insensitive to tapping. There is a quirk with the QWERTY layout, in that the keys on the board are directly underneath each other, whereas they are staggered on a normal keyboard Although it does take getting accustomed to, it is not a serious issue.
This is a good keyboard for people looking for a small keyboard that comes with a touch pad. There are a couple of little downsides but the good things outweigh them, especially at such an affordable price.
